Kartik Aaryan Wins Acclaim for Chandu Champion Role

Kartik Aaryan was pleased when Shabana Azmi on Monday complimented him for his performance in the sports drama Chandu Champion.

Shabana praised the biography helmed by Kabir Khan for its poignant narrative and stated Kartik's portrayal captured his youthful resolve. "Kartik Aaryan's portrayal in Kabir Khan's Chandu Champion left me feeling incredibly affected. He avoided coming across as haughty by playing it with an almost boyish drive and a charming smile, she posted on Instagram.

The seasoned Bollywood actor also praised Vijay Raaz for his performance as Kartik's tutor in the movie. "Vijay Raaz is an incredibly successful coach." The 73-year-old actress continued, "It's a true story, and I say Salaam Kabir for making it so he could see it with his family.

Shabana also posted a photo of herself giving Kartik a kiss on the cheek at a special movie screening.

Kartik thanked Shabana for acknowledging his work in her reshare of her article. "I got my Eidi, Mujhe Meri Eidi Mil Gayi." The actor, 33, said, "Every word you said feels like a medal for me."

Chandu Champion, which was released on June 14, is based on the life and hardships of Murlikant Petkar, an Indian paralympian who was formerly a boxer. Petkar was a member of the Indian Army's Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME). But after suffering serious gunshot wounds during the 1965 war with Pakistan, he was rendered crippled and turned to swimming and other sports. At the 1968 Summer Paralympics, he competed in table tennis and won four gold in swimming.

Since its debut, the movie has reportedly made Rs 26.25 crore nett at the domestic box office, according to industry data-tracking website Sacnilk.

Kartik next appears with Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan in Anees Bazmee's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is being produced by T-Series Films, is scheduled to premiere in theaters on November 1 in honor of Diwali.
