Veteran actor and BJP politician Mithun Chakraborty is now "quite stable" in terms of his health, an official stated on Sunday.

Chakraborty, 73, was brought to a private hospital in this city on Saturday after a complaint of excruciating chest discomfort.


"He has been on a soft diet, is fully cognizant, well-oriented, and active throughout his recovery. Before being released from the hospital, he will go through a few investigations," the medical facility representative said.

The well-known actor has already had many medical examinations performed at the hospital, including an MRI.
