Delhi Minister Alleges BJP-led Centre Blocks AAP's Doorstep Ration Delivery Scheme
Delhi Minister Atishi

Delhi Minister Atishi said on Sunday that the doorstep ration distribution program of the AAP government has been delayed by the BJP-led Centre. She urged people to support her party in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections so they can fight for their rights in Parliament.

The 'Ghar Ghar Ration' initiative was introduced in Punjab on Saturday, she said during a news conference held here, with the objective of helping around 17 lakh people. Since there isn't a lieutenant governor in the state, Atishi, whose party controls Punjab and Delhi, stated that it was successfully introduced there.

In Delhi, however, "the scheme was passed by the Cabinet in 2018 and was notified in 2021 but it has not been implemented yet" because the "Centre, through its representative the lieutenant governor, has stalled its implementation" , she said.

In the impending Lok Sabha elections, which are anticipated to take place in April or May, she urged residents of Delhi to support the AAP.

Seven parliamentary seats are located in the nation's capital, and the BJP won each one in the 2019 elections. "I'm pleading with the people of Delhi to support the AAP in the Lok Sabha elections so that we can fight for their rights and their voice can be heard in Parliament. Please vote for the AAP if you want this program to be implemented in Delhi," Atishi urged.

She said that the voice of the people of Delhi must be heard by the federal government. According to Atishi, ration card users have a lot of trouble getting the 4 kg of wheat, 1 kilogram of atta, and 1 kg of sugar that are allotted to them each month.

"Often, the ration store is closed or there is a large line outside when they go to pick up their ration. The shopkeeper either misbehaves or says that the things are out of stock when they get to the counter (after waiting in line). Ration card users often do not get every item, according to her. The head of the AAP said that ration store owners operate similarly to the "mafia".

According to Atishi, the AAP government's 'Ghar Ghar Ration' system would function similarly to shop-to-home food delivery applications.

According to her, the program would provide ration card holders a "dignified and convenient way" to have their whole allotted ration delivered right to their home.
