Actress Priyanka Chopra celebrated the debut of her latest Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila on Sunday by sending a shout-out to her cousin Parineeti Chopra, actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh, and director Imtiaz Ali.

"Congratulations to Diljit, Tisha, Imtiaz Sir, and the team. Looks amazing," the Citadel actress said on her Instagram story, tagging Parineeti's picture with the IMDb rating of the movie.

In the movie, Parineeti plays Chamkila's wife and singing partner. She posted the card on her Instagram Story with the caption, "Thank you, Mimi didi."


The movie's lead actor, Diljit, also shared Priyanka's Instagram story with his followers.

Imtiaz shared Priyanka's tale on Instagram and said, "Thanks, Priyanka."

Amar Singh Chamkila, the highest-selling Indian artist of the 1980s, is the subject of the biographical film. Chamkila is a Punjabi singer. The singer gained popularity with his song Takue Te Takua and went on to have other songs before passing away at the age of 27, along with his wife and two band mates.

On April 12, Amar Singh Chamkila—which was produced by Mohit Choudhary, Select Media Holdings LLP, Saregama, and Window Seat Films—was made available on Netflix.
