Ranbir Kapoor's Animal Roars at Box Office, Third Highest Week 1 Earner of 2023

According to a report released on Friday by box office data tracker Sacnilk, Ranbir Kapoor's Animal has made an astounding Rs 338.85 crore nett in India, making it the third-highest Week 1 earner of 2023.

The action film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has easily surpassed Gadar 2's first week's box office receipts (Rs 284.63 crore nett), and it currently only trails Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Pathaan. With an astounding Rs 391.33 crore nett, Jawan takes the top spot, followed by Pathaan with Rs 364.15 crore nett.

After seven days, Animal brought in a total of Rs 25.50 crore nett, surpassing the lifetime earnings of Ranbir Kapoor's previous film, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, which took in Rs 149.05 crore nett at the domestic box office. With a lifetime gross of Rs 342.53 crore nett, Sanju is currently the highest-grossing movie in Ranbir Kapoor's career. However, it is currently on track to overtake it.

The film Animal delves into the intricacies of a man's tumultuous relationship with his father, depicting Ranvijay (Ranbir) as an anti-hero who is prepared to go to great lengths to safeguard his emotionally distant father (Anil Kapoor). In important roles in the action film are Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, and Rashmika Mandanna.
