Mamata Banerjee Calls Mahua Moitra's Removal "Murder of Democracy"

On Friday, Mamata Banerjee called Mahua Moitra's removal from the Lok Sabha the "murder of democracy," expressing her "shock" and "sadness" before expressing gratitude to the INDIA bloc for supporting the tenacious Trinamul MP.

During his trip of north Bengal, the Bengal chief minister convened an unplanned press conference in Kurseong in response to Moitra's dismissal over the cash-for-query incident.

In her strongest defense of Moitra since the MP's accusations surfaced weeks ago, Mamata said, "In this specific case, I am telling you that Mahua is a victim of circumstances, and I strongly condemn it."

This can't be tolerated. It's unfair like this. This cannot be undone... Mahua will prevail in the next conflict. The masses will respond appropriately to the BJP. I think so.

Mamata mentioned the voice vote method used to remove Moitra.

"There is no record of the vote there. simply raising your hands, yelling, and providing no room for interpretation. just finished. Pass, pass, pass. "They performed a bypass operation on democracy," the woman said. "The democracy was killed. I hate it.

When asked whether she would put Moitra up for election in the Lok Sabha the next year, the leader of Trinamul responded she didn't see why not.

"I have not yet seen a reason why she should not be a candidate. She said, "In addition, she is the party president for the organizational district of Krishnanagar."

According to many Trinamul insiders, Mamata's unwavering backing for Moitra brought to some intriguing changes within the party. Several Trinamul MPs, including Kalyan Banerjee, who is well-known for his outspoken criticism of Moitra, were seen yelling in her favor.

"The party fully supports Mahua," said Mamata. She is a lady from the younger generation who was chosen by the electorate. Mahua was denied the opportunity to voice her opinions and clarify her circumstances.

The chief minister expressed gratitude to the citizens of INDIA for their support of Moitra. I'd want to applaud India today; they all stood together. We're all together. We retaliated," she said.

Mamata expressed her sadness at the BJP's stance. She questioned how MPs could be expected to read the roughly 500 pages of the Ethics Committee report, come to a decision, and take part in the debate leading up to Moitra's expulsion in less than thirty minutes. She questioned the BJP's sense of shame and accused the party of engaging in "vendetta politics."

They have deceived the masses with this. If you really are so strong, you could have won a fair, poll match against her. Rather than that, what occurred that you had to fire a young woman MP with just two or three months left? ", she said.

"I assumed the Prime Minister had given it some attention. However, I was startled to learn all of the facts just today. The day is depressing for the Indian Parliament.

"So, there's just one session left," Mamata said. Mahua is able to attend the public parliament outside the House for that purpose. Both her moral image and her morals will be enhanced by it. She need to confront it head-on. We'll take it on head-on. Regardless, these two or three months. The choice is what counts.

"Politically, we will fight," she went on. There will be fights. I think justice will be served by people. The next election will see them (the BJP) defeated. I really believe it.

A member of the BJP Lok Sabha named Nishikant Dubey had protested to Speaker Om Birla in October about Moitra based on accusations made by Moitra's former partner, Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai.

Mamata and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee, the senior leaders of Trinamul, had been quiet for a few weeks, which led many to wonder whether Moitra had their support. But, as part of an organizational reorganization, both came out in favor of Moitra last month, and she was named Trinamul district president for Krishnanagar.
