In a follow-up to the action movie Road House on Amazon Prime Video, actor Jake Gyllenhaal will play MMA fighter-turned-bouncer Elwood Dalton, the streaming service revealed on Tuesday.

Prime Video posted a character poster of Jake Gyllenhaal from the film on Instagram along with the caption, "With nearly 80 million viewers to date, Jake Gyllenhaal is set to reprise his role as Elwood Dalton in a Road House sequel."

In the film, Gyllenhaal portrays a former UFC fighter who takes a job offer as a roadhouse bouncer in the Florida Keys. He fights customers with malice in mind while doing his best to save the establishment, which eventually brings him into contact with Knox, played by Conor McGregor.

Released on March 21, Road House is a reworking of Rowdy Herrington's 1989 cult favorite, starring Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliott.

The movie was announced as the streamer's "most-watched produced film debut ever on a worldwide basis" in a tweet released by Prime Video in April.

It's unknown, though, if director Doug Liman will return to helm the impending follow-up.

Alongside Post Malone, Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen, Jessica Williams, and Lukas Gage, Road House has a screenplay by David Lee Henry and Hilary Henkin.
