Shah Rukh Khan Celebrates as Kolkata Knight Riders Edge Sunrisers Hyderabad in Thrilling IPL Opener

Shah Rukh Khan eventually emerged to the balcony of the Eden Gardens "B" block corporate box, looking relieved, after Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins missed to connect with Harshit Rana's game-winning delivery.

The Kolkata Knight Riders survived a huge scare from Heinrich Klaasen in the last over to triumph by four runs and earn all four points in their opening IPL 2024 match on Saturday.

Russell finally performed like Russell after a long while, hitting maximums when his team needed them. Russell acknowledged that he hasn't had an easy time in the IPL over the last year or so, but he said he just tried to respond as best he could to whatever the Sunrisers bowlers threw at him.

"I try to be aware of my striking technique sometimes. I simply attempted to respond to the situations that arose. Bowlers have been quite good against me over the past year or two. During the post-match ceremony, Russell, who was named Man of the Match, admitted, "I'm still figuring out how to score though."

"I understand that everyone comes to me prepared. I have been a consistent member of the (KKR) XI. Tonight, on Saturday, I just said, "Keep supporting." The Caribbean star declared, "I did it right, and I'm happy to contribute with this jersey on."
