Suryakumar Yadav's approach to leadership is straightforward, much like his style of T20 batting. Pacer Prasidh Krishna believes that's what's enabling the younger brigade to do effectively.

Under Surya's leadership, India has already taken a 2-0 lead in the five-match Twenty20 International Premier League versus Australia. Prasidh, who took three wickets in the second game after getting hit for fifty in the first, has garnered a lot of support.

Prasidh responded, "It shows in the way he (Suryakumar) bats — very similar in his captaincy as well," when asked about Surya's style of captaincy. He has faith in his players, encourages us all to follow our passions, and stands with us in the event that something goes wrong."

Regular India captain Rohit Sharma is renowned for granting his men a great deal of freedom, and Mumbai Indians colleague Surya, popularly known by his nickname "SKY," is no exception.

"That has been the name of the game and then that's the word around... freedom, go and execute your plans out there and everyone trusts each other in the team," the speedster from Karnataka stated.

Despite not playing in a single game, he claimed to have learned a lot by being a part of India's World Cup campaign. "Joining the squad allowed me to learn so much. Since joining the team, that has been the biggest learning curve I have encountered. I gained a lot of knowledge about how people prepare and how much material one can absorb."

Prasidh is aware that there is no replacement for hands-on learning, though.

"I found the World Cup information to be overly theoretical... I was talking to my teammates while seated at the dugout. It goes beyond theory in this situation (a match); you also need to be able to carry out actions. I had to play a few overs in Visakhapatnam before I was in competitive mode."

In the second T20I, the Indian bowlers did a good job of containing the dew factor while defending. That took a lot of forethought, Prasidh disclosed.

"It was really damp... There was a lot of dew, even in the eighth over when Mukesh (Kumar) was bowling. However, this is a part of the difficulty of performing in India. As a bowling team, we must develop our dew-tackling skills. Even if it is somewhat challenging, we must learn to adjust. We anticipated that dew would be important, so we were ready," Prasidh remarked.
