Telangana BJP Chief G. Kishan Reddy Announces Lifting of Suspension of MLA T. Raja Singh

Telangana BJP chief G. Kishan Reddy said in a statement on Sunday that the BJP leadership has lifted the suspension of its Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh after taking into account his explanation for the party's earlier showcause notice regarding his alleged controversial remarks about Islam.

Following his alleged divisive comments against "Islam and Prophet Mohammed" in a video that was subsequently removed by the social media site on which it was posted, Raja Singh was suspended from the party in August of last year.

The Preventive Detention Act had been used to justify his detention. But in November 2022, the Telangana High Court invalidated the PD Act that was used against him. He was later given bail.

"After giving serious thought to his explanation in answer to the party's showcause notice, the central disciplinary committee of the BJP has decided to lift the suspension of Shri T. Raja Singh, MLA Goshamahal, from the party. This is for the knowledge of all parties involved, according to Kishan Reddy's statement.

In a video message, Singh expressed his gratitude to state leaders, Union minister Kishan Reddy, the president of the Telangana BJP unit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah, BJP president J.P. Nadda, general secretary B.L. Santhosh, and other state officials for lifting his suspension.

In addition, he expressed gratitude to the party leadership for granting him a ticket to run in the elections scheduled for November 30 from his Goshamahal Assembly seat.

"In a message shared on X, I convey my sincere appreciation to the BJP leadership for selecting me as the Bharatiya Janata Party's nominee in the #Goshamahal Constituency for the forthcoming 2023 legislative assembly election," Singh said.

He said that he will start campaigning in certain seats in accordance with the party's directives.

Singh's fervent beliefs in favor of Hindutva are well-known.

The fiery leader of Hindutva is facing many police charges in Hyderabad, some of which are linked to alleged offenses against the community.
