Earlier Celebration Set for Hollywood's Biggest Night
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Wednesday that the 97th Academy Awards will take place on March 2, 2025 (March 3 in India), one week ahead of the 96th Oscars, which took place on March 10 this year.
The dates of the nominations are set for January 17, 2025. The ceremony will take place in Hollywood's storied Dolby Theatre, just like it does every year.
"Remember to put this in your calendars! The 97th Academy Awards are scheduled for Sunday, March 2, 2025. The Academy's official Instagram page stated, "On Friday, January 17, 2025, the nominations will be announced.
At this year's Academy Awards, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer won the coveted best picture prize. Best actor went to Cillian Murphy for his portrayal of American physicist J Oppenheimer. In addition, Robert Downey Jr. won his first Oscar for best supporting actor for his performance as Lewis Strauss in the same movie.
Oppenheimer received an astounding 13 nominations and won seven awards in the end. Emma Stone won the best actress award for her role in Poor Things.
