Two Youngsters Go Missing After Dip In The Ganga In Samserganj, Murshidabad

On Tuesday, two young people in Samserganj, Murshidabad, went missing after a dip in the Ganga.

Classes II and III are attended by the missing youngsters, Enayet Ansari, 8, and Samir Momin, 9, respectively.

According to their relatives, they were having fun on a field close to the river. Around midday, according to an eyewitness, the two proceeded to the river to wash themselves and were seen splattering water at one another. Abruptly, a powerful stream of water carried them off.

After being informed, a squad from the Samserganj police station raced to the scene and began a search. Nevertheless, the two guys were unable to be seen until late at night.

Abul Hossain Tarif, the father of Enayet Ansari, stated: "My son and Samir were just going about their everyday business. Every day, they visit the field and then wash in the river.

The fact that the lads were still missing made him cry.

"I am aware of the tragic incident," said Ananda Roy, superintendent of police for the Jangipur police district. Professional divers have been sent in to look for the two kids.

"Such events have become frequent in this area," he said. Awareness campaigns must be launched in order to avoid these kinds of mishaps."
