Tiger 3, the most recent installment in the YRF spy series starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, had a modest decline in receipts on its third day at the domestic box office, earning about Rs 42.50 crore nett, per trade estimates.

The spy thriller directed by Maneesh Sharma caused a stir at the box office on Sunday, garnering the third-highest opening day total.

Tiger 3 crossed the Rs 100-crore barrier domestically on its second day, cementing its status as one of the year's most anticipated movies with collections of Rs 44.5 crore nett on Day 1 and Rs 59 crore nett on Day 2, respectively.

Even with Day 3's lower revenue, Tiger 3's total earnings to date have reached an astounding Rs 146 crore nett.

Box Office India forecasts that Wednesday's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 semi-final between India and New Zealand will also probably have an impact on the Salman-starrer's daily revenues.

Tiger 3 is still doing extremely well internationally, having made Rs 176.4 crore in just two days. On its first day of release, the movie brought in a total of Rs 94 crore in revenue globally. On its second day, it brought in an additional Rs 82.4 crore.

Tiger 3 is a follow-up to the hugely successful 2017 film Tiger Zinda Hai. Salman reprises his role as Tiger in the movie, and Katrina plays Zoya. In the series, Emraan Hashmi makes his debut as the main antagonist. Shah Rukh Khan makes a cameo as Pathaan, and Hrithik Roshan returned to his role as Kabir from War (2019), rounding out the star-studded cast.
