Yash Dhull Removed as Captain after Delhi's Defeat: Himmat Singh Takes Over
Delhi sacked Yash Dhull as captain after Ranji Trophy debacle against Pondicherry

Yash Dhull was removed from his captaincy by the selectors shortly after Delhi's humiliating nine-wicket Ranji Trophy defeat to Pondicherry. Dhull will be replaced for the remainder of the competition by Himmat Singh, a middle-order batsman.

The decision came from the selectors. In my opinion, the most crucial thing is that Yash gets runs. Maybe even for Indian cricket, he represents the future of the sport in Delhi. We must tend to his requirements. It should be a priority to do anything that allows him to focus on hitting and scoring runs. Delhi coach Devang Gandhi told The Indian Express, "He doesn't need distractions off the field."

Joint secretary of the DDCA Rajan Manchanda stated, "We want Yash (Dhull) to concentrate on his batting, so we have relieved him of captaincy duties."

Himmat captained the squad in the cricket Buchi Babu Invitational and guided Delhi to their historic victory over Mumbai in the previous season.

Both his batting and his captaincy were lacking in their performance against Pondicherry. Dhull's match was forgettable. In the two innings, Dhull scored two and twenty-three. On January 12, Delhi will play an away game against Jammu and Kashmir.
To turn the team's fortunes around, the 21-year-old Dhull was named captain of Delhi last season. With three hundreds and 479 runs in three games in 2022, the U-19 World Cup-winning captain enjoyed a sensational debut season with the Delhi senior side. Still, he scored just 270 runs in ten innings (six games) the next season.

Dhull has struggled against the moving ball, while scoring the majority of his runs in the opening position. Delhi's 2021–22 Ranji Trophy season was cut short, with its games held in Guwahati in February. This is when he scored his runs. Dhull batted in the middle order in every game he played in his age group. He was requested to open back in 2022 after being placed right into the XI. "Batting is easy when you're no. 6 in the order. After making his Ranji Trophy debut with a century, Dhull had informed this publication, "(My job is to bat, whether I get to open or at No 6)".

"He wants to bat at three, not open the game." He desires to bat fourth. So far in life, what accomplishments have you made? His readiness to bat anywhere and score runs should be a given if he wishes to play for India. "We are supporting him to get back in shape because he is a gifted young man," a DDCA representative stated.
three modifications

For the road game against Jammu and Kashmir on January 12, there have been three changes to the 18-man roster. Due to his limited playing schedule, Ishant Sharma will not be traveling with the team. For their matchup with the England Lions, Navdeep Saini is included in the India A roster. The squad no longer includes left-arm spinner Vikas Mishra. Included in the team are left-arm pacer Kuldip Yadav, medium pacer Prince Yadav, and opener Salil Malhotra.

Himmat Singh (captain), Ayush Badoni (vice captain), Yash Dhull, Vaibhav Rawal, Jonty Sidhu, Salil Malhotra, Hrithik Shokeen, Harsh Tyagi, Himanshu Chauhan, Anuj Rawat (wk), Lakshya Thareja (wk), Divij Mehra, Kuldip Yadav, Prince Yadav, Vaibhav Sharma, Vaibhav Kandpal, Tishant Dabla, Kshitiz Sharma.
