Actress Ileana D'Cruz Opens Up About Postpartum Depression and Motherhood Struggles
Candid Reflections on Embracing New Parenthood and Mental Health Challenges
After giving birth to her son in August of last year, actress Ileana D'Cruz spoke candidly about her struggle with postpartum depression. She recalled some of the "incredibly tough" days she went through and how she was unable to "bounce back" like other moms.
The 37-year-old actress shared a photo on Instagram on Saturday and said that because she is now a full-time mother, she does not have time for herself. "I don't really think about pouting for a selfie because I'm usually wearing pajamas and an ugly mom bun to protect my hair from my munchkin's tiny grabby hands," the woman added.

“Definitely not trying to come across as complaining because this darling child has been the most beautiful thing to happen to me,” Ileana stated, admitting that she has been sleep deprived for a long time.
The Rustom actress said that postpartum depression is "real" and "an incredibly alienating feeling." Despite having "incredibly tough days," she said she is trying to make time for herself. "A 30-minute workout followed by a 5-minute shower really does wonders." But sometimes I'm unable to do it," she said.
Despite experiencing frequent mental tiredness, the actress expressed her appreciation for her new life. Ileana stated, "I've experienced so many incredible things, and it's been an emotionally taxing journey."

Ileana said, "I just haven't been one of those moms who've 'bounced back' immediately," and she added that she is working on "getting to a stronger healthy me at my own pace" and being nicer to herself and her body.
Ileana ended by making a suggestion about her comeback to acting.
Ileana had revealed on Instagram on August 5 of last year that she had given birth to a son, Koa Phoenix Dolan. "There are no words to express how thrilled we are to have welcomed our adorable child into the world. Hearts overflowing," she said as the post's caption.

The actress, who gave birth to her child on her own, has acknowledged that she is not raising her child alone. She also posted a photo of her boyfriend on Instagram during a #AskMeAnything session last year.
Last year, Ileana had also published a message for her spouse. And this beautiful guy has been my support on the days I fail to treat myself with kindness. When he sensed that I was about to break, he hugged me. And dabs away the tears. And makes me grin with silly jokes. or just gives me a hug when he realizes that's what I need right then. And nothing seems to be as difficult as it once did.
