Global Success and Record-breaking Milestones in Bollywood
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Ranbir Kapoor's Animal is the third Bollywood movie to break the Rs 900-crore milestone globally in 2023, following Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Pathaan.
Monday, the 39th day after its release, marked the milestone for the Sandeep Reddy Vanga film. Due to its remarkable international box office performance, it has become the ninth Indian film to be included in the elite group of motion picture giants, including Dangal, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, Jawan, Pathaan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Secret Superstar.
Additionally, Animal has become the fifth domestic Hindi film to ever gross over Rs 500 crore. Blockbusters like Baahubali 2, Pathaan, Gadar 2, and Jawan are among the films in the exclusive group. The action-packed thriller now aims to break the record set by Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, with a planned net collection of Rs 550 crore in all Indian markets.
The action film, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tripti Dimri, centers on Ranvijay (Ranbir Kapoor), who goes on a terrifying killing spree in an attempt to win his father's love.
The film's producers are now charging a fixed price of Rs 100 for tickets to Animal. On January 8, a movie poster and the official X account for the film said, "Watch your favourite blockbuster, now just at Rs. 100."
