Indo-Canadian rapper AP Dhillon recently took a cue from Jimi Hendrix and destroyed his guitar on stage following his performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The video was posted on Instagram on Monday.

In the video's opening moments, Dhillon and Shinda Kahlon can be seen strumming guitars while fans follow the song's beats. Before leaving the stage, the 31-year-old performer smashes the guitar to end his performance.

The Dil Nu singer captioned his photo with, "BROWN MUNDE HAVE LEFT THE DESERT."

Netizens criticized Dhillon for breaking his guitar live, a move that was formerly popularized by rock legends such as Jimi Hendrix and Pete Townsend. Honor the circumstances that led you to this point. It's entirely your fault and your loss," a social media user stated. Another person wrote, "Not the guitar, not the guitar, not the guitar."

Acclaimed for hits such as Summer High, Brown Munde, Scars, and Real talk, Dhillon worked with Amazon Prime Video in 2022 to promote The Boys Season 3, showcasing a trailer that included an exclusive performance of his song Insane.

AP Dhillon: First of a Kind, a documentary on his life, debuted on Prime Video the previous year.
