Md. Rabiual Detained for Attempting to Enter Bangladesh Illegally
On Sunday, the BSF apprehended a citizen of Bangladesh close to the Bangladeshi border in Cooch Behar.
According to sources, around 10 p.m. on Sunday, Md. Rabiual, 24, of Thakurgaon, Bangladesh, was detained while attempting to enter his own country "illegally." He claimed to have come to India eight years ago for employment, and that he was now engaged as a weaver in Panipat, Haryana.
According to what is known, on February 4, Rabiual traveled by rail from Delhi to Jalpaiguri. He then paid an Indian tout Rs 10,000 to assist him in crossing the border between Bangladesh and India.
The Kuchlibar police station has received the arrested individual.
During an anti-smuggling operation, the BSF's North Bengal Frontier also apprehended nine cattle and found 482 bottles of phensedyl cough syrup—a drug that is abused and becomes addicted—during the previous two days.
