Bengal finished their Ranji Trophy season with a victory after defeating Bihar by an innings and 204 runs thanks to strong all-around performances.

The notable performances in the Group B encounter at Eden Gardens were Abhimanyu Easwaran at bat and pacers Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal and Mukesh Kumar with the ball.

On Sunday morning, when they resumed their second innings at 32/1, Bihar crumbled, with Suraj (4/34) and Mukesh (6/32) inflicting the most of the damage. Bihar suffered a significant defeat after being hustled out for only 112.

Mukesh scored an outstanding 10/50 in the contest. Young Suraj finished the game with eight wickets, not far behind.

With a score of only 95 in their first essay, Bihar had also struggled. Bengal came back with a 411/5, riding a century from Abhimanyu Easwaran and a fifty-six from Abhishek Porel. Bihar found it difficult to handle the duo of Suraj and Mukesh in their second innings as well.

With 28, Sakibul Gani led Bihar in scoring.

Bengals won seven points overall from the game, plus an additional point for winning the innings. Bengal, the runners-up from the previous campaign, so ended with 19 points from seven games.

The Bengal Cricket Association honored skipper Manoj Tiwary, who is retiring from first-class cricket, after the game.

In addition, Manoj has represented India in fifteen international matches. He concluded his first-class career with 10195 runs from 148 games.

Bihar 95 & 112 (Mukesh Kumar 6/32, Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal 4/34), in brief scores. Bengal 411/5 decimal places. Bengal won by 204 runs in one innings.
