Billboard Collapse in Pune Injures Horse and Damages Vehicles

Pune, Maharashtra - A horse was injured and several vehicles were damaged when a hoarding collapsed due to strong winds in Pune city, Maharashtra, according to local police.

The billboard fell to the ground between 5 pm and 6 pm on Saturday, outside a wedding hall near the Kavdi Pat toll booth on the Pune-Solapur Highway. The incident was confirmed by an official at the scene.

This event follows a similar incident in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area, where a giant illegal billboard collapsed on a petrol pump due to gusty winds and unseasonal rains. That incident resulted in 16 fatalities and left 75 people injured.

Preliminary information about the Pune incident suggests that the hoarding collapsed due to strong winds, falling on a horse and several vehicles, including one brought by a band party, outside the Gulmohar Lawns wedding hall.

The injured horse was promptly rescued and taken for treatment, the official added. The extent of the damage to the vehicles is currently being assessed. Further updates will follow as more information becomes available.
