Body of young woman found at school in Bhagalpur, Bihar

On Sunday morning, the body of an unnamed young woman was discovered at a government higher secondary school in Bhagalpur, Bihar.

Police believe it's possible that she was sexually assaulted before being killed somewhere else, and the criminals then left her body at the school.

The body was discovered on the S.R. Level Inter School campus in Nathnagar, some 500 meters from the local police station. It appeared that the victim was in her mid-twenties.

She sustained severe injuries near one of her eyes and on her skull, the police reported. Her hands were bound with another dupatta, and a tightly coiled dupatta shaped like a rope was fastened around her neck.

After learning about the body, a sizable crowd of locals gathered at the school.

"Over the phone, I was informed that there was a body in the school. I ran over there. In the evening, this place becomes highly active with antisocial individuals. They even smash through the school's gates. They threaten to harm us if we intervene. Principal in charge of S.R. Level Inter School Ranveer Kumar stated, "We told the police and administration about this, but their activities have continued unchecked."

After learning about the body, senior police officers also hurried to the scene.

"The Nathnagar station house officer (SHO) arrived at the school right away and guarded the murder site. We also promptly called our forensic science lab (FSL) team and dog squad. Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Ranjan of Bhagalpur city stated, "We are gathering evidence and taking further action."
