BSF Apprehends Three Bangladeshis Attempting Illegal Border Crossing in North Bengal

Three Bangladeshis were apprehended on Sunday night from a house in the North Dinajpur district by the Border Security Force (BSF), which is stationed at the India-Bangladesh border in north Bengal.

Mohd Inul, his wife, and another young person from the Dinajpur area of Bangladesh, Mijanur Rahman, were caught. It is stated that they intended to enter their country illegally over an international border.

According to sources, at around 10.15 p.m. on Sunday, members of the Kaliaganj police team and the 91st and 175th battalions of the central security force were present in the district's Lohatara (Murgidiggi) hamlet.

They broke inside Kailash Roy's home, where the three were hiding. Kailash was also stopped for giving the three people a place to stay.

Following an initial inquiry, it was discovered that the three had entered India illegally via an open region twelve years before and were employed as daily-rated laborers in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. They intended to enter Bangladesh illegally this time in order to see their relatives.

Kailash and the other two were turned over to the Kaliaganj police.

On Sunday and Monday, the BSF carried out anti-smuggling operations in many areas, seizing contraband—including animals.

According to sources, the recovered commodities, which were intended to be trafficked into Bangladesh, cost Rs 1.68 lakh.
