Congress Attempts Show of Strength Against Naveen Patnaik's Government in Odisha
Odisha Pradesh Congresss Commitee chief Sarat Kumar Pattanayak tries to breach the police cordon outside the state secretariat in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

The Congress, which has been out of power in Odisha since 2000, attempted to gherao the state headquarters in Bhubaneswar as a show of force against the administration of Naveen Patnaik, which they said was failing miserably on all fronts.

Prior to the election, the governing Biju Janata Dal (BJD) insisted that the Congress' effort to fabricate a story against the Naveen administration would fail.

Thousands of Congressmen attempted to breach the security barrier to enter the state headquarters, known as Lok Seva Bhavan, under the leadership of Sarat Kumar Pattanayak, president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC). When khaki-clad individuals attempted to block Congress workers from walking towards the Lok Seva Bhavan, they got into a fight with the police. They got into a fight with the cops. Ajoy Kumar, the Odisha in-charge, was also there.

Congressmen chanted anti-Naveen chants, criticizing the administration for failing to provide jobs and stop crimes against women and the underprivileged.

"The Naveen Patnaik government has assured 33% irrigation to all the cultivated lands," said OPCC President Pattanayak. However, things are not the same on the ground. Nothing new has happened. The healthcare system is already in disarray.

"People are moving to other states in pursuit of work. People would reject the BJD since it is closely associated with the BJP.

Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati remarked, "The farmers are the worst victim," accusing both the BJP-led administration at the federal level and the BJD regime in the state of aggravating the state's citizens' predicament. Distress sales are their last recourse. They can't get their product sold. In addition, there has been a rise in crimes against women. Currently, after holding onto power for 23 years, they are discussing creating a new state called Odisha.

"There is no job for the youth," said Bahinpati. In quest of work, fifteen lakh individuals have moved to other states. Here, the BJP and the Naveen Patnaik administration work together seamlessly. Their position has already been made public.
