Congress Releases Critical "Report Card" on Modi Government's First 15 Days; Government Responds with Own Achievements

In an effort to draw attention to the problems that the ruling class has been attempting to ignore, the Congress released a "report card" on Wednesday covering the first 15 days of the third iteration of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government.

The NEET scam and paper leak, the UGC-NET paper leak, and the postponing of the CSIR-NET and NEET-PG exams were among the several paper leaks that the Congress highlighted since the new administration was sworn in on June 9.

The Jalpaiguri train tragedy, the three terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, the rise in food prices, the 15% toll tax hike, the increase in CNG prices, the historic low of the rupee, and the 43% reduction in foreign direct investments were also brought up by the party.

Even if the Sangh parivar's disagreements are not just related to governance, the Congress has decided to include the group as well, seemingly taking a cue from the BJP by continuing to act in a hostile manner around-the-clock. Thus, the list highlighted the BJP's internal divisions that have surfaced in the public eye as well as the divisions between the ruling party and its parent RSS. "Differences" the BJP has with other NDA members were also mentioned, albeit there has been no proof of this up to this point.

As could be expected, the government also created a report card of its own that differed greatly from the Congress's.

The development of the Varanasi airport and a greenfield deep draft major port in Maharashtra, the release of PM Kisan's 17th installment, the opening of the new Nalanda University campus, the raising of the minimum support price for 14 kharif crops, the reopening of all gates to the Jagannath temple in Odisha, and the trial run of the recently built Chenab rail bridge were among the accomplishments listed on the government's report card.
