CPM and Congress Urge Voters to Reject Trinamul Congress and BJP in Dhupguri Bypoll

In a public meeting held on Friday for the Dhupguri byelection, the CPM and the Congress encouraged voters to reject the Trinamul Congress and the BJP.

On the day when the INDIA partnership met in Mumbai, the Bengal CPM secretary Md Salim and the state Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury attacked the BJP and Trinamul. The INDIA coalition, which aims to oppose the BJP in the next general election, is made up of the CPM, Congress, and Trinamul.

Adhir and Salim were both in Dhupguri to raise support for Ishwar Chandra Roy, the CPM candidate who is sponsored by the Congress.

Voting against Trinamul and the BJP should be a top priority for the locals of the Dhupguri Assembly seat. Both of these parties' leaders have engaged in corruption. I think the people here shouldn't take into account what's going on in Delhi or Mumbai," Adhir said during a public gathering at Dhupguri's Dakbungalow Ground.

He criticized Abhishek Banerjee, the national general secretary of Trinamul, as well as the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Bengal. Abhishek and Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, met privately on Wednesday in Delhi.

"Workers in tea gardens are in a horrible situation. Adhir said, "Trinamul has done nothing for our area and just a few leaders have profited.

Salim, whose short campaign address mirrored the PCC president's style, spoke similarly to reporters.

"As of right now, inhabitants of Dhupguri don't need to worry about what's going on in Bangalore or Mumbai. They should work to guarantee that the Trinamul and BJP candidates are defeated, according to the CPM state secretary.

The INDIA alliance has met three times thus far, in Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai.

Trinamul and the BJP have reacted to these two leaders' diametrically opposed positions, particularly when Left and Congress officials joined them at the alliance's meeting with Mamata in Mumbai and emphasized the need of working together to defeat the BJP.

"These politicians are only engaging in mudslinging for certain political purposes. Such tactics won't succeed since their parties are obligated to join the INDIA coalition to combat the BJP at the national level. People won't support them in Dhupguri, stated state minister Aroop Biswas during a campaign stop in Banarhat today.

In contrast, Suvendu Adhikari, the head of the opposition in the Assembly, shared a picture on X (previously Twitter) showing the chief minister mingling with seasoned CPM figure Sitaram Yechuri in Malda.

He tweeted that Sitaram Yechuri has left no room for the CPM candidate in the Dhupguri by-election.
