Elephant Attack in Alipurduar District: One Woman Killed, Another Critically Injured

India's Alipurduar An elephant attack resulted in the sad death of one lady and serious injuries to another on Saturday afternoon in the Alipurduar area.

Thirty or thirty-six ladies from Ravabusty went fishing in the Jaldapara National Park. The creek runs through the forest.
They relocated to the Mendabari-I compartment inside the park's Chilapata forest area. The water level in the stream had lowered as a result of the recent lack of rain, which seemed to make fishing simpler.

However, when a wild tusker arrived and attacked the party, their fishing trip took a sad turn.
Niranti Rava suffered serious injuries, while Sarjon Rava was crushed to death. The other gang members were able to get away and told the locals what had happened.

The residents informed the foresters, who arrived at the location right away, of the news.
Niranti was sent to the Alipurduar district hospital, where she is receiving treatment in the acute care unit, after Sarjon's corpse was found.

The foresters went to the scene of the event thereafter. The divisional forest officer of the Jaldapara wildlife division, Parveen Kaswan, conveyed his sadness over the event.
He urged the people who live on the edges of reserve forests once again to avoid endangering their lives by going into the forest. He said that the victims would not be entitled to any compensation since the event happened within a forest.

This terrible event is a sobering reminder of the risks that may result from interactions between people and animals, especially in regions near forest reserves.
