Nadda Calls for Change in Odisha Government, Cites Developmental Goals

Berhampur, Odisha - BJP National President J.P. Nadda on Sunday called upon the people of Odisha to usher in a new era of development by replacing the Naveen Patnaik government with a BJP government.

Addressing a public meeting at Ambapua in Berhampur, southern Odisha, Nadda criticized the Naveen government for not implementing the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. He stated that around 10.74 crore families and 56 crore people have benefited from the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, but nearly 68 lakh families in the state have been deprived of its benefits due to non-implementation. “The government here needs to be changed,” he said, adding that this election is about taking the state forward.

It’s worth noting that Odisha is implementing its own health scheme — the Biju Swastya Kalyan Yojana for its people.

Nadda also made a veiled attack on bureaucrat-turned-politician V.K. Pandian without naming him, accusing the BJD leadership of promoting an outsider in Odisha. He questioned the absence of Odia leaders to take over the administration and lead the state. “This is the right time to bring the BJP to power and unlock the state’s development potential,” he asserted.

The BJP National President listed out several schemes initiated by the Union government, including housing schemes and water for all, to emphasize that the Centre was taking adequate care of the state. He also announced that the Modi government was planning to provide free electricity up to 100 units to each household.

Nadda made a strong plea for voting the BJP to power in Odisha, citing developmental projects such as the expansion of the railway network, building of new airports, and expansion of national highways initiated by the Centre in the state.

Praising the BJP-led NDA government, he said India had emerged as an economic powerhouse despite facing formidable challenges like the corona pandemic and the economic crisis generated by the Ukraine war. “Our country will be the number three economy in the world within two years,” Nadda predicted.
