According to official sources, the Enforcement Directorate searched Jharkhand Congress MLA Amba Prasad and a few other people who were reportedly connected to her on Tuesday as part of a probe into money laundering.

According to the sources, some 17–18 properties in Ranchi and a few other state cities were under attack.


The 36-year-old lawmaker is the representative for the Hazaribag district's Barkagaon assembly seat.

The sources stated that the ED action being conducted under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) is based on a number of FIRs pertaining to alleged illegal sand mining, extortion, and some other offenses.
