Former UPA Minister Kishore Chandra Deo Resigns from TDP Over Alliance Talks with BJP

In order to form an alliance with the BJP-led NDA ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Kishore Chandra Deo, a minister under the UPA, has resigned from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Deo sent a stern letter to Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the party, accusing the Narendra Modi administration of breaking its pledge to generate millions of jobs and ruining the rural economy with the sudden demonetisation.

According to Deo, the sole goal of the Center is to overthrow the existing constitutional order and establish a Hindu theocracy.

Our constitutional spirit has always been characterized by unity among diversity. Zealots who have been causing rifts in a society that is already fractured have distorted this feature. The heartland's lynchings and purportedly staged meetings evoke spooky memories of those most horrifying events, according to Deo.

He said that the NDA government's only agenda seemed to be to incite hatred in order to build up support for the party.
