Four Young People Die in Traffic Accidents in Malda and Jalpaiguri Districts

In the previous day, four young people lost their lives in different traffic incidents in the districts of Malda and Jalpaiguri.

Early on Monday morning, in the Malda district, Sujan Haldar, 22, and his cousin Abhishek Haldar, 27, lost their lives when their two-wheeler crashed with a minibus. The Habibpur police station is in charge of the Rampara area in Muchia panchayat where the tragedy happened.

After buying a two-wheeler lately, Sujan traveled to Malda with Abhishek to see the Durga Puja pandals in Englishbazar.

Early on Monday morning, the two were making their way back to their Habibpur homes, according to police sources. On the Malda-Nalagola state highway near Rampara, they attempted to pass a truck head-on and instead struck a minibus approaching from the other direction.

Sujan was reportedly wearing a helmet, while Abhishek was not, according to police sources. The cousins were pronounced dead by medical professionals at Malda Medical College and Hospital after sustaining severe injuries.

Surajit Dakua and Pallab Das perished in the Jalpaiguri area on Sunday night after their motorcycle crashed into a wayside tree. They belonged to the Tekatuli community, which is within the Mainaguri police station's authority.

Around eleven p.m., an accident happened on the Lataguri-Chalsa route.

While the second rider was carried to the rural hospital in Mangalbari, which is near Chalsa, one of the riders passed away immediately. At the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.

All of them didn't have on a helmet, according to police sources.
