According to trade estimates released by industry data-tracking website Sacnilk, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire swept into Indian theaters with a bang, earning Rs 13.8 crore nett on its opening day, leaving Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon's Crew in its wake.

The Rajesh A. Krishnan-directed heist comedy had the third biggest opening day in Hindi history with a total revenue of Rs 8.75 crore nett on its first day of release. The top two films on the list are Ajay Devgn's Shaitaan (Rs 14.75 crore nett) and Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter (Rs 23 crore nett).

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, directed by Adam Wingard, is a follow-up to Godzilla vs. Kong from 2021. With 33.93 percent of the total English occupancy rate when it launched on Friday.

After the epidemic, the monster film became the second-highest Hollywood premiere in India. The number one movie on the rankings is still James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), which made Rs 40 crore nett on Day 1 in India.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen, narrowly outperformed Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer (which opened at Rs 13.5 crore nett) in India on its first day of sales.
