Governor Bose to Assess Flood Situation in North Bengal

On Thursday morning, Governor CV Ananda Bose arrived in Siliguri to assess the flood situation in West Bengal's northern regions.

Bose, who just got back from New Delhi, has a reconnaissance of the flood-affected areas of Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, and Cooch Behar planned from the air.

He is extremely worried about the circumstance and wants it to be handled with the utmost urgency, a representative said.

On the day the ruling TMC planned its 'Raj Bhavan Chalo' march through Calcutta to seek the release of MGNREGA funding from the Centre, the governor visited the northern districts.

After finishing his assessment of the flood situation, Bose is slated to fly back to New Delhi, the official added.

On Wednesday night, he traveled from Kochi to New Delhi.

Bose on Wednesday also discussed the flooding issue in Sikkim with the governors of neighboring states, including them.
