In a brand-new trailer released on Netflix on Wednesday, actress Kusha Kapila challenges the female characters in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar to sum up each other in three Urdu words.
Kusha's challenge is accepted by Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Sheikh, who portrayed courtesans in Heeramandi. The only cast member missing was Richa Chadha, who plays Lajjo in the historical drama series.
For Manisha, Aditi selects the Urdu phrases "khoobsurat" (lovely) and "shaatir" (cunning). "Zehrili" is the next term suggested for Manisha, meaning "poisonous." While Aditi is portrayed by Sharmin as "sehmi hui" (scared), Sanjeeda gives Aditi a more serious Urdu name—that of Aditi. Aditi, however, is referred to by Manisha as "bohot khoobsurat" (extremely beautiful).

In addition to calling Sharmin "bholi," Sonakshi also calls her "masoom," "innocent," and "shant mijaz," or peaceful. Sonakshi gets called "chanchal" (restless) by Sanjeeda. Some people think Sonakshi is "nukeeli," or sharp-edged, while Sharmin calls her "tikhi," or heated. Lastly, the cast of Bhansali's debut online series refers to Sanjeeda as a "traitor," a "dalbadlu" (a turncoat), and a "zakhmi" (wounded).
Heeramandi, which also stars Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah, and Adhyayan Suman, explores the stories of love and betrayal that courtesans in Lahore's oldest red-light district endure.
