HS Prannoy Leads India's Charge at China Open After World Championships Triumph

Following his important World Championships gold medal victory, HS Prannoy is leading India's effort in the renowned China Open Super 1000 Tournament, which begins on Tuesday. Lakshya Sen, a young athlete, is working to recover his physical as he gets ready for the next Asian Games, which begin on September 23 in Hangzhou, China.

Notably, there wasn't an Indian competitor in the women's single category since PV Sindhu made the decision to withdraw from the competition in favor of the Asian Games. Kim Ga Eun of Korea was scheduled to compete against Sindhu, who finished in second place in the early Asian Games.

In the last World Championships, Prannoy surprised everyone by defeating Olympic champion and No. 1 in experience Viktor Axelsen on the way to winning a major prize. With this accomplishment, Prannoy rose to No. 6 in the world according to the welcome course-extreme rating. He will start out by engaging Malaysian Ng Tze Yong.

Prannoy may potentially face Thailand's No. 4 and tertiary-plant Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the round of 16, a formidable foe he has yet to defeat in their two previous meetings, if he makes it beyond the first round. Prannoy will likely face Indonesia's No. 9-ranked veteran Jonatan Christie in the quarterfinals.

Lakshya Sen, a gold medalist in the old world championships and a champion of the British Commonwealth of Nations Games, had a less successful expedition in Copenhagen last temporal period, losing in the round of 16 and accompanying adversity to Vitidsarn. As Sen begins his welcome combat with Anders Antonsen of Denmark, he will reverently test his welcome daring against the highest in rank. Lakshya will likely play seventh-plant Loh Kean Yew of Singapore in the round of 16 then world No. 1 Axelsen in the quarterfinals, which poses some doubts for her.

As the second Indian participant in the fathers' single main draw, Priyanshu Rajawat will compete against Shesar Hiren Rhustavito of Indonesia in the first round.

The Indian men's doubles team of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty hopes to recover swiftly from their World Championship quarterfinal loss and portray themselves more forcefully in this match. They are positioned second and will compete against Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Bagas Maulana, an Indonesian duo, in the first round. The Japanese team of Keichiro Matsui and Yoshinori Takeuchi will be challenged by MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila, another Indian duo.

The Chinese top-plant team of Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan will be the Indian team of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand's opponent in the women's doubles.
