As the India women's team prepares for their first home Test in nearly ten years, captain Harmanpreet Kaur believes the biggest obstacle will be quickly acclimating to red-ball cricket given the demanding international schedule.

The Indian team will play two Test matches at home: a match against Australia starting on December 21 in Mumbai, and a match against England starting on December 14 in Navi Mumbai.

Despite her impressive career of playing just three Tests, Harmanpreet is worried about the women's team's lack of red-ball cricket.

Harmanpreet was cited by ESPNcricinfo as saying, "We are really looking forward to the Test series because I haven't played in front of a home crowd (since 2014), so I'm really excited for that."

We haven't played with the red ball, so that presents a challenge for us. For a very long time, we have been playing with the white ball.

"We don't have red-ball cricket back home, not even in domestic cricket. Thus, our task is to prepare ourselves in such a short amount of time.

Hamanpreet took nine wickets in her only home Test against South Africa in November 2014, despite only scoring 38 runs at an average of 7.60 in three Test matches.

Harmanpreet is currently in Australia for the Women's Big Bash League. On November 25, she will play in the Melbourne Renegades' final game against the Melbourne Stars at the MCG.
