Mamata Banerjee Alleges RSS Role in Sandeshkhali Unrest, Claims Control Over Situation
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari sits on the Dhamakhali road in North 24-Parganas’s Laskarpara on Thursday after he was prevented access to Sandeshkhali.

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister, said on Thursday that the "RSS role" was behind the turmoil in Sandeshkhali and that "outsiders" had evil intentions to incite trouble there during Saraswati Puja.

She continued by saying that unfortunate events were avoided because her administration took strong action, emphasizing the arrest of 17 people.

"I want to say that there is an RSS base and they are trying to create disturbances," Mamata said in her House speech during a debate on the state budget. Seven or eight years ago, there was a disturbance in the region. It is an area prone to stress.

Mamata said, "They are attempting to sow discord between the tribal people and the minorities."

Sheikh Shahjahan, the head of her party, is being targeted by central agents, she said.

"The Enforcement Directorate entered the area and targeted Shahjahan, and then outsiders entered through that same route," Mamata remarked, alluding to the event on January 5 that occurred when the ED encountered a crowd assault when searching Shahjahan's home in Sandeshkhali as part of their investigation into the ration fraud.

The House was informed by the chief minister that Sandeshkhali was now under control. Allegations of crimes against women were being investigated by an all-female police squad, and a ground report had also been requested from the state women's commission. Bengal's home minister, Mamata, said that women officers were especially urged to engage with women in the villages.

The head of Trinamul, who made reference to accusations of crimes against women and land grabs made by certain local leaders of her party, said that people were her first concern and that she would not put up with any wrongdoing.

But she also questioned the identities of the ladies who spearheaded last week's Sandeshkhali demonstration.

"Who were the people hiding their faces while speaking? Who do they represent? "Outsiders," Mamata said.

While acknowledging that some individuals may have complaints, she insisted that no one should be permitted to incite conflict.

On Thursday, the CPM and BJP maintained their fervent political activity in Basirhat and on the highways leading to Sandeshkhali.

In order to keep BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari from accessing Sandeshkhali, police erected blockades along Malancha Road, which ends at Dhamakhali Ghat.

Along with three other party MLAs, the Nandigram MLA arrived at Laskarpara at around 2:15 p.m. by bus. However, a sizable police contingent, under the command of Aminul Islam, the sub-divisional police officer for Basirhat, obstructed their path to Sandeshkhali. Adhikari pledged to return with a court order enabling him to go to Sandeshkhali, and he sat in protest for two hours at Laskarpara before departing for Calcutta.

"No one can stop me from returning soon. I'll appear in court on Friday and return armed with the full weight of the law. "Those who stopped me will be held legally accountable," he said.

After BJP supporters and Trinamul supporters got into a fight over anti-Truth slogans, authorities made room for Adhikari's car.

The district police chief's office was the target of a protest organized by the CPM in Basirhat. Two barriers were breached by supporters under the leadership of CPM central committee member Sujan Chakraborty. Cops gave the demonstrators canings.

After visiting the difficult areas of Sandeshkhali, a delegation from the National Commission for Scheduled Castes said that the state government was not cooperating.
