Mamata Banerjee Slams BJP's Alleged Misuse of Government Agencies Ahead of General Election

In the weeks leading up to the pivotal general election, Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister, unleashed a tirade against the BJP for allegedly having ties to the CBI and the NIA, accusing them of forcing Trinamul officials and workers to choose between siding with the saffron party or suffer the repercussions.

At a time when her party colleagues Chandrima Bhattacharya and Kunal Ghosh visited Bhupatinagar and informed the locals that the party would provide all feasible legal help to those detained by the NIA, Mamata's acquisition of the central agency was considered crucial.

Mamata said that she had knowledge of NIA agents visiting Purulia hotels before to her campaign event in order to identify the boarders in an attempt to identify her party leaders.
