In an attempt to virtually run for office in all 42 Bengali seats, chief minister Mamata Banerjee asked voters to remember her face and support the Trinamul Congress on Thursday in the Lok Sabha elections.

"At an election campaign rally in Mathabhanga, Cooch Behar district, I ask you to remember my face only once and cast one vote," declared the Trinamul district chairperson.

"I have always kept my word... Ask the youths, the women, and all others about how I delivered on my promises," Mamata added, introducing Jagadish Chandra Barma Basunia, an MLA that Trinamul ran against BJP MP Nisith Pramanik in the Cooch Behar constituency. The only party that can oppose the BJP's misrule is Trinamul.

According to observers, Mamata is relying on her untarnished reputation to fight the BJP's allegations that Trinamul officials are involved in corruption.

She continues to have great popularity throughout the state and has not been accused of corruption by anyone. This appears to be a wise strategy at a time when the BJP and other political parties are criticizing Trinamul over corruption, a political observer stated.

During her 2016 Assembly campaign, Mamata declared herself the candidate in each of the 294 constituencies.

Mamata declared, "This is my vote," in front of the Assembly elections in 2021. You don't have to look up the candidate because Trinamul produces MLAs. You have my full support.

Nisith, the Union minister of state for home affairs and the current MP for Cooch Behar, drew criticism from Mamata during the Mathabhanga rally.

"He is the subject of multiple ongoing legal cases. Every detail is in our possession. She remarked, "It is unfortunate that the BJP was unable to locate a Scheduled Caste or Rajbanshi youth of greater caliber.

Mamata also addressed a sensitive topic in the border regions, the BSF's perceived haughtiness.

"I would ask the women to file complaints with police if the BJP wants to intimidate the voters here by using the BSF and other central security forces," the woman stated. Mamata gave a speech at a second public gathering in Jalpaiguri's Malbazar later that day. She was talking about the storm on Sunday and her quick trip to north Bengal.

The chief minister said that the administration had not received approval from the Indian Election Commission to reconstruct homes in the storm-affected areas.

She had stated that the state had written to the ECI on Wednesday, requesting authorization to begin building the dwellings. Mamata stated, "The state administration is prepared to carry out its duties, but permission has not yet reached the administration."
