Mujib: The Making of a Nation to release in theatres on October 27

The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), which shared a trailer for the Sheikh Mujibur Rahman biopic Mujib: The Making of a Nation on Sunday, revealed that the film's release date was set for October 27.

The trailer's opening scene shows Mujib, played by Arifin Shuvoo, stepping foot for the first time in newly independent Bangladesh after being freed from a Pakistani prison. The next scene cuts back to Mujib's struggle to preserve Bangla, his mother tongue in the former East Pakistan before Urdu was made the national language during Partition.

The figure of Mujibur's daughter Sheikh Hasina, the current prime leader of Bangladesh, is given some screen time in the teaser, providing an insight into Mujibur's private life. It also shows a tense exchange between Mujib and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the former leader of Pakistan.

Chanchal Chowdhury, Riaz Ahmed, Fazlur Rahman Babu, and Tauquir Ahmed are also featured in Mujib: The Making of a Nation, a partnership between India's NFDC and the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC).

The movie, which cost 83 crore rupees to produce, will debut in Bengali, Hindi, and English.
