Nasser Hussain, a former captain of England, believes that the Indian bowling unit now in place is the greatest he has ever seen, drawing comparisons with the team's early 2000s Fab Five batsmen.

The Indian spin combo of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav, together with pace trio Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah, have mesmerized opposing hitters and contributed significantly to their team's nine-match winning streak in the league stage of the current World Cup.

"I have never seen an Indian bowling team as good as this one.

"Over time, there have been exceptional Indian bowlers; however, collectively, this group is the best," Hussain declared on the official broadcaster, Star Sports.

"Siraj will grab you if Bumrah fails to.

"Shami will get you if Siraj fails to. The two spinners will enter and remove you if they are unable to get you.

Hussain compared the five bowlers of today to the world-renowned Fab Five (Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman), who dominated cricket in the early years of this century.

Hussain remarked, "There used to be Fab 5 with the bat, this is the Fab 5 with the ball now."

India will play New Zealand in the opening semi-final of the World Cup at the Wankhede in Mumbai on Wednesday. India finished first in the World Cup league table with an all-win record.
