Panchayat Season 3 Lands on Prime Video on May 28th
Fans Unlock Release Date After Lauki Game, Jitendra Kumar Returns as Abhishek Tripathi
The streamer revealed on Tuesday that the third season of the comedy-drama series Panchayat will debut on Amazon Prime Video on May 28.
"We unlocked your reward since you moved the laukis! With a poster of the eagerly anticipated sequel, Prime Video posted on X (formerly Twitter) with the hashtag #PanchayatOnPrime S3, May 28.
Pigeons are seen flying off in the background, and the poster shows Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi, Neena Gupta as Manju Devi, and other cast members with astonished expressions on their faces.
Prime Video had developed a game for fans to discover the release date prior to the announcement of the date. The date of the eagerly awaited season of the rural comedy drama had to be revealed by removing each laukis from the screen individually at intervals of fifteen minutes.
An early look at the upcoming episode of the show was released by Prime Video in December of last year. Actor Jitendra Kumar was seen riding a bicycle through a local road in the first picture. The other picture showed Ashok Pathak, Durgesh Kumar, and Faisal Malik in the roles of Vinod, Bhushan, and Prahlad from the show, respectively.
The show centers on Jitendra Kumar's character, Abhishek Tripathi, an engineering graduate who finds himself working at a panchayat office in a rural village after failing to land a job fit for him. Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta also play important roles in the story.
In November of last year, at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Panchayat took home the first-ever Best Web Series (OTT) Award.
In May 2022, Panchayat's second season premiered on Amazon Prime Video.
