Renowned Sand Artist Creates Mango Sculpture to Encourage Voting

Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a stunning sculpture at Puri beach using 500 kg of mangoes. The sculpture features texts written in sand that read ‘Chunav ka Parv Desh ka Garv’ (Election Festival, Pride of the Nation) and ‘Your Vote Your Voice’. The artwork serves as an appeal to voters to exercise their franchise in the ongoing elections.

The sand art, which covers a 2,000 sq ft area, took around five hours to complete with the help of students from Pattnaik’s institute. Pattnaik explained that since it’s summer and mangoes are a favorite fruit during this season, they decided to incorporate mangoes into their sculpture to encourage electors to vote.

As polling continues for six parliamentary constituencies and 42 assembly segments in Odisha during the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, Pattnaik’s creative and impactful sculpture serves as a reminder of the importance of participating in the democratic process.
