Rohit Sharma Reveals He Tried to Convince Dravid to Stay as Coach

According to Rohit Sharma, he attempted but was unable to persuade Rahul Dravid to stay on as head coach.

"I attempted to persuade him to stay, but clearly he has a lot of responsibilities as well. Indeed, though, I had a good time spending it with him. In New York, the captain of Team India remarked, "I'm sure the other guys will say the same."

On Monday, Dravid made it official that he would step down as head coach following the T20 World Cup.

"You see, my relationship with him dates all the way back to when he first arrived to perform this work. In actuality, he served as my first captain abroad. He was my first captain when I played in Ireland. Then, when I was just joining the team, I watched him play," Rohit remarked.

And such a significant role model for us as children. We are aware of his accomplishments as a player and his years of service to the squad. Fighting to get the squad out of sticky situations...

He has demonstrated a great deal of perseverance throughout his career. You know, I wanted to learn from him when he arrived here as a coach because of that.

And it has yielded great results. With the exception of the prestigious awards, we've won every major competition and series, and I've loved every minute of it. It is evident that working with him to determine the best course of action for the team and getting his support is extremely important.
