Along with Keanu Reeves's John Wick 4 and Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Shah Rukh Khan's 2023 blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan have been nominated for many Vulture Stunt Awards.

"Jawan's action is on fire!" stated production company Red Chillies Entertainment in a post announcing Jawan's nomination in many categories.Jawan is a nominee for the annual stunt awards from Vulture.

The film's nominees for each category were announced by Jawan director Atlee. Along with John Wick 4, Mission Impossible 7, and Extraction 2, the action film has been nominated for Best Overall Action Film. It also stars Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, and Vijay Sethupathi. Because of its intense highway pursuit sequence, it has also received nominations for Best Vehicular Stunt and Best Stunt in an Action Film.

The plot of Jawan centers on Azad (Shah Rukh), a jailer in a Mumbai women's prison who works with his father (also portrayed by Shah Rukh) to fight corruption in society. Motivated by retaliation, Azad fulfills a vow he made years before by helping female inmates address societal problems.

Jawan, which debuted on September 7 of last year, became the most profitable movie in Shah Rukh's 37-year acting career worldwide with over Rs 1,100 crore.

However, Pathaan has been nominated for Best Aerial Stunt and Best Overall Action Film. The official Vulture Stunt Awards website lists Guy Ritchie's The Covenant, John Woo's Silent Night, and the John Wick spin-off Ballerina as further action-thrillers in this category.

In the fourth installment of YRF's Spy Universe, Pathaan, Shah Rukh plays an exiled RAW agent who teams up with Deepika Padukone's character, Rubina from the ISI, to stop former RAW agent Jim (John Abraham) from using a deadly virus to destroy India.

With almost Rs 55.7 crore earned on its first day of release, Pathaan—directed by Sidharth Anand, who is now waiting for the release of his aerial-action movie Fighter—became Shah Rukh's second-highest earning movie of all time.
