Shatrughan Sinha's Evolving Journey: From Conservative Father to Proud Supporter of Daughter Sonakshi

This TMC MP used to claim that he couldn't bear the thought of his daughter moving away and that if wishes were horses, he would desire a ghar jamai, or son-in-law who lives with his wife's family. He would say, "I can't imagine the house without Sona."

Shatrughan Sinha, despite his past conservatism and chauvinism, has adapted to the changing circumstances. Sonakshi, his daughter, has played a significant role in it. She is a female version of her assertive father and carries his initials.

In Ramayan, the Sinha mansion, a lot has changed over time. To start, Poonam, the wife, is the one who discreetly dons the pants in the home. Beneath the placid exterior of Shatru's 1980 wife was an educated Libran with strong beliefs. One such early instance was when mother sent Kush and Luv to a boarding school in Kodai-kanal, over his protests. Maybe his acquiescence sprang from his conventional thinking, in which the male was the Minister of Finance and External Affairs and the wife was the Home Minister, taking care of the house and children (pun intended).

Promi also received her wish when she carried out her subsequent pregnancy six years after giving birth to her twins, with the gynecologist interpreting the sonography of the large-boned baby and announcing the arrival of another male child. Shatru was shooting for Goutam Ghose's Antarjali Yatra outside Calcutta in June 1987 when Sonakshi unexpectedly appeared, defying the gynaec's forecast. Shatru's change began at that precise time.

He wasn't a parent who changed diapers or soothed their infant, but on her first day of school, when Sona, who was chubby, insisted on calling her "godi," he took her in his arms and carried her up three stories. She's always been able to encircle him with her little finger.

Even though he may have wanted Promi to cease her acting career, he proudly observed Sona's accomplishments and marveled at her transformation from a daddy's girl to a self-sufficient adult. Sona used to sit and listen to him as he recorded our interviews for his book, Anything But Khamosh. Not only did she become her own person on the day Dabangg took off, but she also developed a ferocious protective streak toward her mother, whose self-esteem increased in tandem with Sonakshi's development. A lot of Sona's choices have been subtly explained to Shatru by Promi, almost like a replay of his own life in which he followed his own route with his mother as his most steadfast supporter. similar to a father and a daughter.

Even though her brothers continued to live in Ramayan, Sona's father, who had made jokes about a ghar jamai, encouraged her to go away and establish her own home. Shatru celebrated his birthday in December of last year with a party hosted by his daughter, which he attended with pride.

Years prior, Shatru had considered his official response to the contentious AIB Roast (2015), which sparked a backlash from the right-wing due to Sonakshi's attendance. He didn't suggest she was an adult who could make her own decisions and grow from them because those were still her formative years. But with time, dad has come to see Sona as a big little girl who is capable of making independent, adult judgments.

Despite rumors of displeasure from family members, Promi has sent out intimate invitations that begin, "Dear... For you, we have some encouraging news. On June 23rd, Sonakshi will tie the knot, and we would love for you to join us in celebrating. Sonu, Promi, and Sinha Parivar.

Shatru has been occupied with his own political career, traveling by plane from Asansol to Delhi following his win, and then on to Mumbai. He hasn't had time to participate actively in the preparation, but he will undoubtedly be present for his daughter's special day today. "Sona is my favorite person." It has always been. How can I not bless her and participate in her joy?" he pondered.

PS: If everything goes according to plan, I'll be at this evening's Sinha festivities.
