Driver of Innova Attempted to Flee the Scene
A speeding Toyota Innova struck several cars on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, killing three people—two of them women—and injuring six more, according to a police officer on Friday.
According to the official, two of the wounded are in critical condition.
According to Krishnakant Upadhyay, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) for Zone 9, the Innova struck a Mercedes-Benz vehicle in the north-bound lane around 100 meters before to the toll booth located at the Bandra end of the sea link.
"The Innova's driver attempted to flee the scene and drove off. Nine individuals were hurt when the automobile crashed into many other vehicles as it approached the toll booth. Three of them were later pronounced dead, according to the DCP.
Six wounded people, including the Innova's driver, are receiving medical attention. According to him, two of them are in critical condition.
He added that there were five other cars involved in the sea link collision besides the Innova.
According to the official, the Innova was carrying seven passengers at the time of the collision, including the driver.
According to the preliminary information, a complaint is being filed against the driver of the Innova, and more inquiries are being conducted, he said.
