Suriya, the winner of the National Award, announced on Wednesday that he has become the owner of team Chennai in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL).

A press release stated that the ISPL is the first tennis ball T10 cricket competition in India to be held indoors. The first edition is slated to take place in Mumbai from March 2 to March 9.


There will be 19 intense matches in the tournament, with six teams participating: Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Srinagar.

Suriya expressed his excitement about joining the league.

"Chennai, Vanakkam! I am extremely excited to declare that Team Chennai has won ISPLT10. On his official X page, the actor wrote, "To all the cricket fans, let's create a legacy of sportsmanship, resilience, and cricketing excellence together."

It was recently announced that Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, and Ram Charan will own the teams in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Srinagar, and Mumbai, respectively.

Mumbai will host the Indian Super League (ISPL) from March 2 to March 9.
