Gabriel Basso Returns as FBI Agent Peter Sutherland in the Riveting Second Season
Following the popularity of its first installment, Netflix's thriller series The Night Agent is now in production for a second season, the streamer said on Monday along with behind-the-scenes photos and a video starring Gabriel Basso.
The streamer captioned their upload, "THE NIGHT AGENT S2 is officially in production."
The images show the first take for a scene from the second season and include Basso's character Peter Sutherland, a young FBI agent in the show, holding a clapperboard and wearing an off-white shirt. The actor is seeing skyscrapers from a helicopter in the BTS video.
According to Netflix, Brittany Snow and Teddy Sears will portray new characters in The Night Agent Season 2, which will consist of ten episodes. Luciane Buchanan will return to her role as Rose Larkin in the next season, while Amanda Warren will be joining the cast as Catherine, who trains and readies night agents for missions. Returning to the series are Arienne Mandi, Louis Herthum, and Berto Colon.
Peter Sutherland (Basso), who works in the White House basement and watches a non-ringing phone, is the subject of The Night Agent. But one day it begins to ring, and Sutherland finds himself enmeshed in a scheme that reaches the Oval Office, upending his whole existence.

The Night Agent debuted on Netflix in 2023 and quickly rose to the top of the English TV List, racking up 168.71 million watching hours in its first week of availability. It then trended among the top 10 series in 93 different countries.
Shawn Ryan, the showrunner, gave thanks for the show's success to the writers, directors, actors, crew, Sony Pictures Television, and Netflix. "We are incredibly happy and eager to begin working on Season 2 so that we can continue to share Night Action's adventures with our newfound fans," he said.
As the first season of The Night Agent concluded, Sutherland was on his way to his first night agent assignment. After he successfully exposed a terrorist plot within the White House, he was promoted from a low-level FBI agent to a night agent.
