Travis Head may have taken the IPL by storm this year, but Test cricket is still the Australian's first objective. Until that time, the big-hitter would like to play in no more than two T20 tournaments annually.

With hundreds in the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup finals, Head has been India's archenemy. He currently leads Sunrisers Hyderabad with 533 runs, and he and the uncapped Abhishek Sharma have a fantastic opening pair.

"This year marks my first IPL season since 2017," the player said. For the time being, I would place all of my eggs in the Test basket, and I will keep doing so, Head declared.

"I will select formats and determine the various ways in which I am available for selection following the tests."

Head is eager to return to the IPL the following season after having a fantastic season with the Sunrisers.

"At this point, I would prefer to return for the 2019 Indian Premier League. For example, I'll play Major League Cricket (MLC in the USA) this year immediately following the World T20, but things might look very different the following year.

You set priorities for what you can and cannot do each year. The 30-year-old stated unequivocally, "Next year, Test cricket is back, we tour the West Indies, and I probably won't feature in many other franchises."

"Look, once I finish playing Test cricket in a few years, there may be a few more opportunities to play some more franchise cricket." However, I would attempt to restrict it to a few franchises at this time and concentrate on Test cricket.

Head has had an extremely busy past ten months, beginning with the WTC final, going on to the Ashes, and concluding with the World Cup in India. The T20 World Cup, which starts next month, will take place after the IPL concludes for more than two months.

However, he is not interested in making a great deal out of managing his workload. "After the IPL concludes in a few days, I will return home. After two or three days at home, travel to the West Indies and begin the process anew.

"Look, I'm not going to do this forever, and we are really fortunate to do what we do." We are fortunate to have good care, so let's attempt to enjoy it to the fullest.

"I would like to be in the moment, keep pushing through and stay in the moment, enjoying the moment. I know in a few years, I can retire and do nothing. I will have plenty of time to look back and wish I was back on tour."
