Trinamool Congress Criticizes PM Modi After Delhi Airport Roof Collapse
TMC Slams Government, Calls for Investigation Following Fatal Incident at Terminal 1
The Trinamul Congress claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assurance was "crumbling" and attacked the national government on Friday over the ceiling collapse at Terminal 1 of the Delhi airport.
A probe into the roof collapse that resulted in one fatality and six injuries was ordered, according to Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu.
The TMC wrote on social media, "A Glimpse into PM Modi's 'Guarantee': Crumbling under his lies."
The TMC stated in their X handle post that "the roof at Delhi Airport's T1 collapsed,..... which Modi hastily "inaugurated" in March, despite its unfinished state, just for election optics."
Naidu added that a comprehensive examination of the airport's structure would be conducted.
According to government sources, GMR hired private contractors to complete the construction of the roof that fell at Delhi airport's Terminal-1 (T1) between 2008 and 2009.
Only IndiGo and SpiceJet operate domestic flights on T1. With three terminals (T1, T2, and T3), the airport accommodates about 1,400 airplane movements every day.
